Supportive care needs of cervical cancer patients undergoing radical surgery based on timing theory:a phenomenological study
Objective:To explore the supportive care needs of patients with cervical cancer at different stages after radical operation,so as to provide basis for developing demand-oriented nursing services.Methods:The phenomenological research approach was used from May to November 2021 to conduct semi-structured interviews with 16 participants.Three semi-structured interviews were conducted at 7 days after operation(adjustment period),3 months after operation(adaptation period)and 6 months after operation(stable period).Colaizzi 7-step method was used to analysis the data,and the supportive care demand multidimensional model was used for classification.Results:A total of five themes were summarized to describe the need of cervical cancer patients undergoing radical surgery,including the symptoms of discomfort and restoring daily life,negative psychological feelings,multifaceted support and continuation of medical service needs,insufficient information support and sexual needs.Conclusion:The supportive care needs of patients undergoing radical resection of cervical cancer have different characteristics with the course of disease.Medical staff should adopt the concept of dynamic and continuous,scientifically evaluate the needs of patients,and then implement accurate nursing services to improve patients'disease awareness and coping ability.
