Application and management of Totally Implantable Vennous Access Ports in 56 hospitals in Hunan province
Objective:To investigate the application status and management problems of Totally Implantable Vennous Access Ports(TIVAP),and propose the intervention strategies,so as to provide reference for scientific and safe management of TIVAP.Methods:A total of 56 hospitals in 14 cities/states in Hunan province were included by convenience sampling method from October to November 2022 to investigate the application and management of TIVAP.Results:Twenty hospitals(35.7%)carried out TIVAP implantation procedure,and 47 hospitals(83.9%)implemented the maintenance of TIVAP.In terms of TIVAP management,39 hospitals(83.0%)set up intravenous therapy management team,14 hospitals(29.8%)carried out data monitoring for TIVAP implantation,and the difference between secondary and tertiary hospitals was statistically significant(P<0.05).Forty hospitals(85.1%)provided regular TIVAP training for specialist nurses,and only 17 hospitals(36.2%)regularly conducted quality supervision on the use of TIVAP.Conclusion:The TIVAP management system in hospitals at all levels in Hunan province needs to be improved,including standardize the maintenance process,strengthen the information management and the training of specialist personnel,so as to improve the the maintenance and management quality of TIVAP.
