Current status and influencing factors of body image level in patients with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
Objective:To investigate the current status of body image level in patients with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and analyze its influencing factors,to provide reference for the implementation of targeted interventions in clinical.Methods:A total of 213 patients with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome who were admitted to a tertiary hospital in Shanxi province from June 2022 to August 2023 were investigated using the general information questionnaire,Body Image Scale,Type D Personality Scale-14,Self-Objectification Beliefs and Behaviors Scale,and Perceived Social Support Scale.The influencing factors of the patients'body image level were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis.Results:The body image level score of patients with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome was 11.00(8.00,14.00).Regression analysis showed that age,reproductive history,time spent in magazines and media,BMI,acne rating,Ludwig alopecia grade,mFG body hair score,type D personality,self-objectification beliefs and behaviors,and perceived social support were the influencing factors of the patients'body image level,explaining 73.9%of the total variation.Conclusion:The body image level of patients with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is at a moderate level,and healthcare professionals should develop targeted intervention strategies to improve the patients'body image status according to their characteristics.
