Real experience with ileal conduit after radical cystectomy among patients with bladder cancer:a Meta-synthesis
Objective:To integrate the qualitative research about the real experience with ileal conduit after radical cystectomy among patients with bladder cancer,fully understand the patient's problems and needs,and provide implications for formulating specific intervention strategies of urostomy patients.Methods:The qualitative studies on real experience for ileal conduit after radical cystectomy among patients with bladder cancer were systematically searched,evaluated,and extracted from the Chinese and English databases according to the inclusion criteria.The retrieval time limit is from the inception to March 2023.The literature quality was evaluated by the Quality Evaluation Standard for Qualitative Research of Evidence Based Health Care Center of Joanna Briggs Institute in Australia(2020),and the Meta integration method was used to integrate the results.Results:A total of 12 studies,consisting of 61 research results were included.A total of 10 new categories,4 comprehensive results were finally integrated,including Psychological problems as hard to adapt to the changes in body and lifestyle after surgery;Decreased quality of life due to changes in physiological function after surgery;Insufficient postoperative self-care ability and eagerness of professional continuing care guidance;Social support for life reconstruction from multiple resources as patient has post-traumatic growth.Conclusion:To improve the quality of life of patients after operation,the health care professionals should fully understand the postoperative experience and needs of patients promote the medical security system,and provide patients with long-term,comprehensive professional guidance and continuous care services.
