Comparison of the efficacy of three scales in predicting Venous Thromboembolism in patients with Nephrotic Syndrome
Objective:To compare the predictive effects of Pauda,Caprini, and Autar thrombus risk assessment scales on the risk of Venous Thromboembolism(VTE)in patients with Nephrotic Syndrome. Methods:A total of 287 hospitalized patients diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome in the Department of Nephrology at a tertiary grade A hospital in Beijing from January 2018 to March 2023 were recruited.A total of 51 patients diagnosed with VTE,and 236 patients without VTE(non-VTE group).Three risk assessment scales were used to assess the thrombus risk, and Receiver Operation Characteristic(ROC)curves were drawn for comparative prediction. Results:The optimal diagnostic thresholds for the Pauda,Caprini, and Autar scales were 0.5 points,3.5 points, and 5.5 points, respectively. The area under the ROC Curve(AUC)was 0.613,0.701,and 0.623,respectively.Conclusion:All three scales can predict the risk of VTE in Nephrotic Syndrome to a certain extent, with the Caprini,Autar, and Pauda scales ranking in order of predictive ability from high to low.
