Exercise intervention on the quality of life in patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus:a Meta-analysis
Objective:To evaluate the effect of different exercise programs on the quality of life of patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus(SLE).Methods:According to the PICOS principle,an experimental study on the impact of exercise intervention on the quality of life of SLE patients published before November 2023 was retrieved from Chinese and English databases.The study was evaluated by the literature quality evaluation tool published by the Australian JBI Evidence Based Health Center.RevMan 5.4 was applied for data analysis.Results:Nine studies with 529 subjects were included exercise program was classified into aerobic exercise and resistance exercise.Subgroup analysis showed that patients exercised≥3 times per week had significant improvements in quality of life including physical health[SMD=0.69,95%CI(0.48,0.90),P<0.001]and mental health[SMD=0.90,95%CI(0.45,1.35),P<0.001].Patients exercised 30-50 minutes each time showed significant improvements in Quality of Life including physical health[SMD=0.72,95%CI(0.41,1.04),P<0.001]and mental health[SMD=0.81,95%CI(0.36,1.26),P<0.001].Conclusion:SLE Patients who exercise≥3 times a week for about 30-50 minutes each time have a significant improvement in their quality of life.Further large-scale high-quality RCT studies are needed to elucidate the precise exercise plan for patients with SLE.
