Photo-elicitation is a qualitative research method that involves photos in data collection and can provide methodological guidance for qualitative research in nursing.To provide a reference for promoting the application of photo-elicitation in community care in China,this article reviews the origins,connotations,implementation steps,and current application status of the technique in the community care of chronic diseases.It also summarizes the advantages of photo-elicitation in community care and analyzes the challenges it faces in terms of resources,ethics,time,and standardization of reporting.
