Since the establishment of Chongqing Demonstration Center for the competency evaluation of seafarers engaged in inland voyages,the practical operation examination for seafarers has been gradually changed from the current real-ship evaluation into simulator evaluation.Based on the study on the status quo of practical operation examination for seafarers engaged in inland voyages conducted by Chongqing MSA and the existing disadvantages,the paper puts forward a feasibility solution on conducting practical evaluation on inland ship pilot operation items using electronic chart system(ECS)based on existing problems.
