With the rapid development of the new energy vehicle market,accidents of fires caused by new energy vehicles have been on the rise. Due to the distinct characteristics of new energy vehicle fires in comparison with traditional fuel vehicle fires,the existing fire detection,suppression,and emergency procedures on ships are no longer effectively adapted to the demand for the safe transportation of new energy vehicles. This paper investigates and studies the current operation status of Ro-Ro ships and analyzes the risks associated with fire accidents involving new energy vehicles carrying power batteries. Furthermore,it proposes countermeasures to address these issues.
