In remote areas,especially economically underdeveloped areas,due to the limited construction of Automatic Identification System (AIS) and Very High Frequency (VHF) base stations,it is difficult to obtain the navigation dynamics of ships,which increases the risk of ship collision accidents and the difficulty of emergency rescue. This article introduces the basic working principle of the BeiDou satellite navigation system. Taking the jurisdiction of Wuzhou MSA as an example,it explores the approaches for the application of the system in maritime supervision ferries,and puts forward suggestions for promoting the application of the system in ferries.
