Study on the safty of dexmedetomidine combined with propofol intravenous anesthesia in radiotherapy for children with tumor
Objective To evaluate the safety of dexmedetomidine combined with propofol intravenous anesthesia radiotherapy of children with tumor. Methods Eighty two pediatric tumor patients who underwent intravenous anesthesia radiotherapy in the Third People's Hospital of Zhengzhou from Oct 2016 to May 2022 were selected.A total of 1 256 times of non intubated intravenous anesthesia were used. The patients were randomly divided into two groups:propofol anesthesia group(group P),41 cases,628 times of intravenous anesthesia;41 cases in dexmedetomidine combined with propofol anesthesia group(group D+P),and 628 times of intravenous anesthesia. The changes of respiratory rate, heart rate and oxygen saturation before(before anesthesia)and after(after anesthesia)radiotherapy under different anesthesia methods were observed and compared between the two groups. The times of propofol administration and the dosage of propofol were calculated. The time interval from children falling asleep after anesthesia to awake after radiotherapy was calculated, and the occurrence of adverse reactions in the two groups was counted. Results There were no significant differences in heart rate, respiratory rate and oxygen saturation between group P and group D+P before and after radiotherapy(P>0.05);there were no significant differences in heart rate and respiratory rate between the two groups before and after radiotherapy(P>0.05),but there was significant difference in oxygen saturation between the two groups before and after radiotherapy(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the recovery time of anesthesia between the two groups. The number of propofol administrations and the dosage of propofol were reduced in the group D+P.The incidence of adverse reactions was 63.41%in group P and 12.19%in group D+P,with significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion Propofol and dexmedetomidine combined with propofol have good safety in the process of intravenous anesthesia and radiotherapy for children with tumor. The anesthesia recovery time of dexmedetomidine combined with propofol was not significantly prolonged. The administration times of propofol are reduced, the dosage is reduced, and the adverse reactions are small, which is worthy of clinical application.
