Based on the Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian(ALE)method,the soil mulch cleaning process under the presence of marine cable is discussed.The effects of jet velocity and seabed strength on the stress damage of the submarine cables during soil mulch cleaning are investigated.The results show that:when the seabed soil is the same,the higher the jet velocity is,the greater the force of the cable is,when the jet velocity is 50 m/s,the submarine cable is damaged;at the same jet velocity,the smaller the shear modulus,cohesion and friction angle of the seabed soil are,the greater the force of the cable is.It is necessary to select the corresponding jet velocity according to the seabed strength to meet the cleaning requirements in the process of cable mulch cleaning.The research results can provide reference for the study of soil mulch cleaning technology of submarine cable.
