Study on carbon emission and emission reduction of light steel buildings in construction stage
The carbon emissions from the construction industry account for about 40%of the total social carbon emissions.Among them, the carbon emissions in the construction stage are the highest and most intensive.Reducing carbon emissions in this stage is a crucial breakthrough for emissions reduction in the construction sector. Most of the current research focuses on traditional cast-in-place reinforced concrete buildings, with limited studies on carbon emissions from light steel buildings. There is even less research on carbon emissions in the construction stage of light steel buildings. In this paper,a carbon emission calculation model for the construction stage of light steel buildings is developed.A light steel building in Beijing is selected as a case study.By calculating the carbon emissions in each stage, including material production, recycling, transportation and construction,it is found that light steel buildings have significant emission reduction potential in each stage, and corresponding emission reduction measures are proposed.
