Research Progress of Quantum Error Correction with Bosonic Codes
Achieving the quantum error correction advantages is vital for building practical fault-tolerant quantum computers,and the bosonic codes based on superconducting quantum circuit systems are an important approach to achieve this goal.This paper introduces the basic principles of quantum error correction,elaborates and analyzes three main types of bosonic quantum error correction schemes,summarizes the advantages and challenges in this field,and reviews the current key bosonic quantum control technologies.Notably,the recent research has achieved a breakthrough of quantum error correction beyond the break-even point,opening up the error-corrected quantum era and laying an important foundation for the future development of universal fault-tolerant quantum computers.
