Aerogel materials,renowned for their low density,low thermal conductivity,and high porosity,have found extensive applications in construction,energy,and other fields.However,traditional aerogel preparation methods often involve complex processes and costly raw materials,significantly impeding their large-scale production and commercial utilization.Therefore,researchers have turned their attention to developing cost-effective strategies for aerogel production.This paper delves into recent advancements in the low-cost synthesis of silica aerogels,encompassing the selection of silicon sources and drying techniques.It is expected that this review will offer valuable insights and direction for future endeavors in the economical fabrication of aerogel materials.
