Joint Effect of Qinsangjinhai Granules and CO2 Dot Matrix Laser on Skin Physiological and Immune Functions in Patients with Moderate to Severe Ac-ne
Objective To evaluate the joint effect of Qinsangjinhai granules and CO2 dot matrix laser on skin physiology and immune function in patients with moderate to severe acne.Methods Altogether 87 patients treated for moderate to severe acne over the period from Oct.2021 to Jan.2023 were divided into a test group(n=44)and a control group(n=43)by the order of their case numbers.The patients in the control group were treated with CO2 dot array laser,and those in the test group were given Qinsangjinhai granules in addition.The skin physiological functions(oil level,percutaneous water loss and cuticle water content),immune functions and clinical symptoms(including rash,itchy pain,flushing,thirst,yellow urine,red tongue apex and thin yellow coated tongue)between the two groups before and one month after the last laser treatment were recorded and compared respectively.Results Before the treatment,there was no dramatic difference in skin physiological function,immune function or clinical symptom score indicators between the two groups(P＞0.05).One month after the last laser treatment,the amount of skin oil and percutaneous water loss decreased and the water content of cuticle increased in both groups(P＜0.05).It was found via comparison that the amount of skin oil and percutaneous water loss in the test group was lower than those in the control group,and the water content of cuticle was higher in the test group(P＜0.05).The immunoglobulin A(IgA),immunoglobulin G(IgG)and immunoglobulin M(IgM)of both groups increased(P＜0.05),and the levels of IgA,IgG and IgM were higher in the test group than in the control group(P＜0.05).Moreover,the scores of rash,itchy pain,flushing,thirst,yellow urine,red tongue apex and thin yellow coated tongue dropped in both groups(P＜0.05),and the scores were much lower in the test group than in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusions The combination of Qinsangjinhai granules and CO2 dot matrix laser treatment will improve the immune functions,regulate the related skin physiological functions and improve the clinical symptoms of the patients with moderate to severe acne.
