Study on Efficacy and Safety to Treat Depressed Scars Jointly with CO2 Dot Matrix Laser and Botulinum Toxin Type A
objective To study the clinical efficacy and safety to treat depressed scars jointly with CO2 dot matrix laser and botulinum toxin type A.Methods In this prospective study, totally 120 patients with depressed scars treated between May 2021 and May 2023 were selected and randomly divided into a study group and a control group,60 patients in each group. While the patients in both groups being given CO2 dot matrix laser treatment, the patients in the study group were applied botulinum toxin type A after the laser treatment. For both groups, the ECCA scores, clinical efficacy, scar symptoms, quality of life and adverse reactions were recorded 1 d,1 month and 6 months after the treatment respectively. Results Six months after the treatment, the total effective rate of the control group and study group was 86.7%and 96.7%respectively,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The ECCA score was significantly lower in the study group than in the control group 1 day,1 month and 6 months after the treatment(P<0.05).The scores of DLQI indexes of both groups dropped after the treatment, and the post-treatment scores of DLQI indexes were much lower in the study group than in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions Featuring high patients'satisfaction and safety, the combination of CO2 dot matrix laser and Botox is effective in treating depressed scars.
