Healthcare workers'willingness to receive and recommend human papillomavirus vaccination:a cross-sectional study in Guilin city in 2023
Objective To explore willingness to receive and to recommend human papillomavirus(HPV)vaccination and factors influencing willingness among healthcare workers. Methods We recruited a convenience sample of healthcare workers in Guilin for an online questionnaire-based survey to determine rates of willingness to receive and to recommend HPV vaccination and factors influencing willingness. Results Rates of willingness to receive and to recommend HPV vaccination were 90.75%(4 717/5 198)and 87.09%(7 056/8 102),respectively.Multiple regression analyses showed that males and 30-44-and ≥45-year-olds were less willing to receive HPV vaccination than females and<30-year-olds,while technicians and subjects aware of HPV and HPV vaccine were more willing to receive HPV vaccination than doctors and subjects not aware of HPV and HPV vaccine.Males and hospital staff were less willing to recommend HPV vaccination than females and CDC staff, while 30-44-and≥45-year-olds,leaders,subjects aware of HPV and HPV vaccine, and subjects who had received HPV vaccine were more willing to recommend HPV vaccination than<30-year-olds,non-leaders,subjects not aware of HPV/HPV vaccine, and subjects who had not received HPV vaccine. Conclusions Healthcare workers had high levels of willingness to receive and recommend HPV vaccination in the surveyed areas. It is still necessary to strengthen training of knowledge about HPV and HPV vaccination for healthcare workers.
