Objective To explore factors influencing herpes zoster(HZ)vaccination in people aged ≥ 60 years. Methods We used a non-matched case-control study design to collect data on HZ vaccine(HZV)administration and HZ/HZV cognition and other factors among ≥ 60-year-olds in two prefectures of Jiangxi province from January 2022 to December 2023.We compared vaccinated and non-vaccinated subjects and identified factors influencing HZV vaccination using a logistic regression model. Results The study included 206 subjects who received HZV and 211 subjects who did not receive HZV.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that a high HZ/HZV cognition score, being around people with a history of HZ or HZV vaccination, and an acceptable vaccine price were associated with HZV vaccination of subjects[OR(95%CI):1.17(1.10-1.25),3.75(2.20-6.40),2.88(1.63-5.09),and 2.81(1.61-4.91)].Conclusions HZV vaccination of ≥60-year-olds in Jiangxi was mainly influenced by HZ/HZV cognition, being around people with a history of HZ or HZV vaccination, and vaccine price. We suggest strengthening health education about HZ and HZV for the elderly.
