Objective To determine herpes zoster vaccine(HZV)coverage and factors influencing coverage among people aged ≥40 years. Methods We used a stratified sampling method to select ≥40-year-olds from 6 sub-districts of 3 districts in Nanjing for a questionnaire-based survey. We analyzed HZV coverage and identified factors influencing coverage using a multivariate logistic regression model. Results Overall HZV coverage level was 3.58%(53/1 479).Coverage was highest among subjects whose family member had a history of HZV vaccination, who had a history of influenza vaccination, who had high willingness to pay for HZV(>3 000 yuan),and whose herpes zoster and HZV cognition scores were greater than the mean scores[OR(95%CI):15.73(7.06-35.07),2.12(1.03-4.37),4.51(1.41-14.49),and 2.16(1.02-4.56)].Conclusions HZV coverage was low among people aged ≥40 years in Nanjing. We suggest strengthening health education about HZV and explore relevant vaccination policies for age-eligible individuals.
