A descriptive analysis of vaccination certificate examination data for children entering kindergarten and primary school in China,2021 to 2023
Objective To analyze implementation of vaccination certificate examinations for children entering kindergarten and primary school during 2021-2023 in China.Methods We obtained vaccination certificate examination data for children who were enrolled in kindergarten and primary school during 2021-2023 from all provinces of China and conducted a descriptive epidemiological analysis.Results There were 507.2,493.1,and 478.9 thousand kindergartens and primary schools evaluated in China in 2021,2022,and 2023,respectively,and included in our study.Annual rates of vaccination record examination,possession of a vaccination certificate,replacement of a certificate,full-series coverage of National Immunization Program vaccines,missed vaccinations,and full-series revaccination among entering children ranged from 98.31%to 99.54%,99.28%to 99.54%,74.83%to 94.25%,85.23%to 87.52%,12.18%to 14.53%,and 80.60%to 88.19%during 2021-2023.Annual full-series revaccination rates among children were 77.43%,85.57%,and 88.23%in eastern regions;86.79%,88.36%,and 91.49%in central regions;and 79.90%,81.42%,and 85.31%in western regions.Conclusions The quality of vaccination certificate examination of kindergarten and primary school entry children in China increased during 2021 to 2023.We should continue strengthening vaccination certificate examination and revaccination in all areas of China.
