Knowledge,attitudes,and practices about hepatitis B prevention and control among residents≥15 years of age:a cross-sectional study in Chengyang district of Qingdao city,2023
Objective To explore knowledge,attitudes,and practices(KAP)about hepatitis B prevention and control among residents in Chengyang district of Qingdao city.Methods We selected ≥ 15-year-old residents in two sub-districts of Chengyang and conducted a questionnaire-based survey.We analyzed awareness/positivity rates and scores for KAPs about hepatitis B prevention and control and identified factors influencing scores.Results Among 951 subjects,awareness/positivity rates for nine knowledge items,eight attitude items,and two items on practices about hepatitis B prevention and control ranged 55.94%to 94.43%,25.24%to 95.69%,and 60.57%to 70.14%,respectively,with the median(interquartile)KAP score being 12(9-14).Multivariate analysis showed that KAP scores were higher among females than males on average[β(95%CI):83.91(47.84-119.97)]and increased with increasing age and education level[β(95%CI):2.40(1.28-3.52)and 43.76(17.59-69.93)].Conclusions The level of awareness/positivity of KAPs about hepatitis B prevention and control was generally low among residents in the surveyed area.We should focus on weak-knowledge and vulnerable populations for health education on hepatitis B prevention and control.
