Willingness to receive herpes zoster vaccination and factors influencing willingness among individuals ≥18 years of age in Nanning city:a cross-sectional study in 2024
Objective To explore willingness to receive herpes zoster(HZ)vaccination and factors influencing willingness among individuals ≥18 years of age in Nanning city.Methods We selected a convenience sample of ≥ 18-year-old individuals from 13 counties/districts of Nanning for a questionnaire-based survey in August 2024.We analyzed rates of willingness to receive HZ vaccination and factors influencing willingness.Results The overall rate of willingness to receive HZ vaccination among subjects was 56.59％(1 031/1 822).Multivariate logistic regression showed that willingness was higher among female subjects,40-49-year-olds,subjects whose monthly family income was greater than ten thousand yuan,subjects who obtained vaccination recommendations from doctors/friends/relatives,and subjects who had ≥8 scores of knowledge and attitudes about HZ/HZ vaccine[OR(95％CI):1.34(1.06-1.70),1.47(1.07-2.01),1.62(1.08-2.45),1.74(1.37-2.20),and 2.65(2.07-3.38)].Willingness was lower among subjects whose friends/relatives did not have HZ history and who could not accept the current vaccine price[OR(95％CI):0.64(0.49-0.83)and 0.13(0.09-0.19)].Conclusions Willingness to receive HZ vaccination was generally low among ≥ 18-year-olds in Nanning.We should strengthen health education to increase knowledge about HZ/HZ vaccine.
