The influence of vaginal injected red kidney bean lectin for a long time on vaginal epithelial cells of mice
Objective:To explore the influence of vaginal injected red kidney bean lectin(RKBL) on vaginal epithelial cells of mice.Method:Mice were injected vagina of different concentrations of RKBL for four months continually, and all mice were decapitated after four months administration and their vagina and surrounding tissues were fixed in formaldehyde solution. In order to investigating their histological changes, the vaginas tissues were done paraffin section and hematoxylin eosin stained.Result:When concentrations of RKBL at 2.5mg or below injected in each mouse for four months administration, vaginal mucous membrane were non hyperemia inflammation expression, and the vaginal epithelial cells or tissues remained intact and normal form. While the concentration of RKBL increased to 5 mg,vaginal mucosa epithelial cells had changed with cavitation. Conclusion:When the concentrations of RKBL at 2.5mg or below by vaginal injected for a long time, there is no any side effect on vaginal epithelial cells or subcutaneous tissue.
