Evaluation of the effect of the reproductive health intervention on the knowledge,information and practice of the college students in Bayingoleng mongolian autonomous prefecture of Xinjiang
Objective:To explore the effect of the lectures on the reproductive health related knowledge for the universi-ty students on their reproductive health knowledge,information and practice.Methods:The simple random sampling method was used to select 258 students for the reproductive health education intervention for 8 weeks from a university in BaZhou from September to November 2023,and the effect of the education intervention was analyzed through the questionnaire on the knowledge,information and practice of the reproductive health of these students before and after intervention.Results:After the intervention,the reproductive health knowledge of the university students had im-proved(P<0.05).In the terms of attitude,the proportion of the university students who could correctly understand that if there was an acquaintance,classmate,friend or relative with HIV infected,and would be willing to continue to communicate with him/her had decreased after the intervention significantly(36.4%vs.55.8%).The proportion of the university students who had abnormal vision for the patients with venereal diseases after the intervention had decreased significantly(9.7%vs.6.2%).In the terms of behavior,the proportion of the university students who had learned how to use condoms by themselves after the intervention had increased significantly(11.6%vs.21.3%)(all P<0.05).Conclusion:Colleges and universities should pay high attention to the reproductive health education needs of the uni-versity students,and actively seek multiple ways to carry out the reproductive health education for the university students to promote their physical and mental health.
