Analysis of the influencing factors of the endometrial polyp recurrence after hysteroscopic polypectomy
Objective:To analyze the influencing factors of the endometrial polyp recurrence of patients after hystero-scopic polypectomy. Methods:The clinical data of 253 patients with endometrial polyps who had undergone the elective hysteroscopic polypectomy in the hospital from January 2021 to December 2022 were analyzed retrospectively. These patients were followed up for 1 year after surgery, and the recurrence of the endometrial polyps of the patients within 1 year after surgery was investigated.Logistic regression analysis model was used to analyze the influencing factors of the recurrence of the endometrial polyps of the patients. Results:Among 253 patients, the rate of the patients with single polyps was accounted for 66.4%and the rate of the patients with multiple polyps was accounted for 33.6%.Af-ter 1 year of surgery,57 patients had the recurrence of the polyps, and with the recurrence rate of 22.5%.Univariate analysis showed that there were significant differences in the recurrence of endometrial polyps among the patients with different age, among the patients with different body mass index, between the patients with and without infertility,a-mong the patients with different number of polyps, among the patients with different maximum diameter of polyps,a-mong the patients with different postoperative complications and among the patients with different postoperative man-agement measures(P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the age>35 years old(OR=2.519),the infertility(OR=3.102)the multiple polyps(OR=4.175)of the patients were the independent risk factors of their recurrence of endometrial polyps within 1 year after surgery, while the postoperative levonorgestrel intrauterine system inserted(OR=0.534)and the oral drospirenone and ethinylestradiol tablets(Ⅱ)(OR=0.651)of the patients were the independent protective factors of their recurrence of endometrial polyps(all P<0.05).Conclusion:The re-currence rate of the endometrial polyps of the patients within 1 year after hysteroscopic polypectomy is higher. The preoperative evaluation and intervention should be given to the patients with the advanced age, with infertility or with multiple endometrial polyps. The postoperative treatment should be given to these patients so as to reduce the risk of the postoperative recurrence of endometrial polyps in clinic.
