Survey of reproductive health knowledge and sexual behavior among floating population in Haidian District, Beijing
Objective To investigate the reproductive health knowledge and sexual behavior among floating population in Haidian District, Beijing in order to provide the scientific evidence for health education and behavior intervention. Methods An anonymous questionnaire survey was conducted among mobile people for data collection. The data were analyzed by bivariate and multivariate analysis. Results Floating population had low awareness on sexual knowledge, the awareness rate of total 3 items was 5. 3%. The average age of respondents who had first sexual experience was 21. 4. The difference in common contraceptive methods was statistically significant between unmarried and married people. In addition, almost half (48. 5% ) of the respondents who had sexual experience used a condom in their last sex. Multivariate analyses indicated that age (OR = 1. 89, 95% CI; 1.23-2.92), marital status (OR =2.23, 95% C/: 1.38-3.61), education (O? = 1.48, 95% C/: 1. 03-2. 11) , knowledge on contraception and AIDS (0ft=2.51, 95% CI: 1.67 -3. 78) were main influencing factors for condom use. Conclusion It is essential to strengthen health education on reproductive health among mobile population, as well as to promote their health literacy to reduce unsafe sex.
