The changing trend of health literacy level among Chinese young people aged 15-24 years old and its influen-cing factors,2012-2021
Objective To understand the changing trend of health literacy level and its influencing factors among young people aged 15-24 years old from 2012 to 2021,and to provide references for developing health education and pro-moting relevant policy measures for youth,especially adolescents.Methods The health literacy monitoring data of Chinese residents from 2012 to 2021 were used to analyze the health literacy level of the youth aged 15-24 years old and its influen-cing factors.Results After weighted adjustment,the health literacy levels of the youth from 2012 to 2021 were 9.43%,9.39%,10.78%,11.45%,12.78%,15.58%,18.45%,22.55%,23.15%,30.46%,respectively.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the health literacy level in the eastern region was higher than that in the western re-gion,and the OR value was 1.593(95%CI:1.291-1.966).Compared with men,women were at a higher level of health literacy,with an OR value of 1.400(95%CI:1.167-1.679).Compared with the education level of primary school and below,the health literacy level of youth with junior college/undergraduate and above was higher,and the OR value was 18.837(95%CI:6.825-51.991).Compared with those with annual household income<20 000 yuan,those with annual household income ≥80 000 yuan had a higher level of health literacy,with an OR value of 1.321(95%CI:1.011-1.726).Conclusion The health literacy level of young people aged 15-24 years in China is steadily improving.Factors such as different regions,gender,education level and family income level are the main factors associated with health litera-cy level of young people aged 15-24 years.
