Status of mental health and its influencing factors among female teachers in middle schools
Objective To understand the mental health status among female middle school teachers and analyze its influencing factors by logistic regression equation.Methods 1899 female middle school teachers from 12 middle schools were selected by stratified random cluster sampling method from June to October,2020.An electronic questionnaire was used for investigation.The influencing factors of anxiety and depression in female middle school teachers were screened,and logis-tic regression equations were established and verified.Results Among 1754 female middle school teachers,487 cases of anxiety and 463 cases of depression were found,the rate of anxiety was 27.77%and the rate of depression was 26.40%.Multivariate logisticanalysis showed that the anxiety rate of female middle school teachers with aged above 45 years old,av-erage weekly working hours above 40h,combined chronic diseases,moderate or heavy occupational stress was higher than that of female teachers with age ≤ 45 years old,average weekly working hours ≤ 40 h,no combined chronic diseases,and light occupational stress.OR values were 2.248(95%CI:1.625-3.110),3.838(95%CI:2.828-5.209),3.860(95%CI:2.831-5.262),3.004(95%CI:2.132-4.233),respectively.The incidence of anxiety of female middle school teachers who actively participated in mental health lectures and group psychological counseling was lower than that of those who did not.OR value was 0.248(95%CI:0.181-0.339),and all P<0.05.The incidence of depression of fe-male middle school teachers with average weekly working hours>40 h,concurrent administrative posts,combined with chronic diseases,moderate or heavy occupational stress was higher than that of female teachers with average weekly working hours ≤40 h,no concurrent administrative posts,combined with chronic diseases,and light occupational stress.OR values were 3.259(95%CI:2.414-4.398),2.273(95%CI:1.672-3.089),2.857(95%CI:2.102-3.883),3.451(95%CI:2.415-4.931),respectively,and all P<0.05.The incidence of depression of female middle school teachers who actively participated in mental health lectures and group psychological counseling was lower than that of those who did not.The OR value was 0.302(95%CI:0.223-0.410),all P<0.05.Logistic regression equation was constructed ac-cording to training set,and the area under the prediction curve of anxiety and depression in the verification set was 0.786 and 0.736,respectively.Conclusion The incidence of anxiety and depression in female middle school teachers is higher,which is affected by many factors.Logistic regression equation of influencing factors is established,which has high predictive value,and corresponding preventive measures can be taken for high risk personnel.
