Analysis on the awareness about hydatid disease prevention among rural oriented medical students in a medi-cal college in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region
Objective To investigate the awareness about relevant policies,prevention and medical treatment of hydatid disease among rural oriented medical students in a medical college in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region,and to provide a basis for improving the prevention and treatment skills and carrying out targeted health education.Methods By a stratified random sampling,a total of 392 oriented students majoring in clinical medicine were selected for a questionnaire survey.The score of different variables was analyzed by using multivariate analysis of variance(ANOVA).P＜0.05 was con-sidered as statistically significant.Results The average awareness rate of hydatid disease-related policies was 61.08％,and the average score was(4.27±0.41).The average awareness rate of hydatid disease prevention was 65.56％,and the aver-age score was(4.59±0.44).The average awareness rate of medical treatment on hydatid disease was 51.62％,and the average score was(3.10±0.48).The overall awareness rate of knowledge about hydatid disease prevention and control was 59.42％,and the average score was(11.97±3.44).Major,grade and nationality had significant influences on the total score.Conclusion The overall awareness rate of hydatid disease prevention and treatment is low among rural oriented medi-cal students in a medical college in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.Therefore,the knowledge of medical treatment should be strengthened and relevant policies should be popularized.
