Development of Chinese Medicine Dietary Nutritional Literacy Assessment Scale
Objective To develop a Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)Dietary Nutritional Literacy Assessment Scale,and to provide assessment tool for surveying TCM Dietary Nutritional Literacy among the public in China.Methods Liter-ature research method and content analysis method were used to construct the first draft of TCM dietary health literacy assess-ment scale,and the final indicators of the scale were determined after 2 rounds of Delphi expert consultation.Results The re-sults of content analysis showed that the understanding of Chinese medicine diet and health care knowledge covered 6 aspects of Chinese medicine's classification of food,food's tropism of taste,food's function,food's compatibility and contraindication,principles of TCM diet and health care,and TCM dietary habits.The results of the Delphi expert consultation showed that a to-tal of 18 experts were invited to participate in the consultation,and the degree of positivity of the experts in both rounds was 100%,with an authority coefficient 0.87,Kendall coefficients 0.146 and 0.173,mean importance intervals 3.56-4.67 and 3.78-4.89,and coefficients of variation intervals 0.10-0.34,0.07-0.26,and the expert opinions were converged.The finally constructed TCM dietary health literacy assessment scale contained 5 primary indicators,7 secondary indicators,and 47 tertiary indicators.Conclusion The scale has a high degree of scientific validity,and its applicability needs to be verified in future.
