Investigation on influencing factors of night feeding behaviors among 1-year-old infants
Objective To investigate the influencing factors of night feeding behaviors among infants, and to moti-vate parents to adopt scientific night feeding behaviors. Methods A convenient sampling was carried out in 19 community health service centers in the central area of Beijing, and a questionnaire survey was conducted among 658 mothers with in-fants aged 11-14 months to investigate night feeding behaviors.Chi-square analysis and student's t test were applied for sin-gle factor analysis, and logistic regression analysis was used to explore the influencing factors of night feeding behaviors.Re-sults Among 658 infants,187(28.42%)of them had quited night feeding behavior, and the average age of quitting night feeding was(10.04±3.30)months old.The results of regression analysis showed that the infants who was first baby had a higher rate of quitting night milk(OR=1.60,95%CI:1.052.43)compared non-first baby.Compared to mothers who were unaware of the caries caused by night feeding, the awareness group had a higher rate of quited night feeding(OR=2.05,95%CI:1.23-3.40).Compared with mother perceived the lower barrier score, the infants whose mother per-ceived the higher barrier were less likely to quit night feeding(OR=0.65,95%CI:0.57-0.74).Conclusion The situation of infants quitting night milk was not good.To motivate parents to quit night feeding for their young children,it is important to provide scientific feeding knowledge for parents and reduce their barriers in this process.
