Influencing factors of complementary food feeding behavior of infant caregivers in remote rural areas of Si-chuan Province
Objective To explore the current situation and its influencing factors of supplementary feeding behav-iors of infant caregivers in remote rural areas of Sichuan Province based on the Integrated Behavioral Model. Methods In 2022,infants aged 6 to 23 months and their caregivers from two counties with low and middle income levels in Sichuan Prov-ince were selected through a multistage cluster random sampling method.Information such as caregivers'attitudes and subjec-tive norms of supplementary feeding was collected based on the Integrated Behavioral Model, and the influencing factors of caregivers'supplementary feeding behavior were analyzed by multiple logistic regression model. Results A total of 556 sam-ples were included, and the rate of standard supplementary feeding behavior was 49.64%.The results of multiple logistic re-gression showed that supplementary feeding self-efficacy(OR=1.07,95%CI:1.03-1.11)and behavioral intention(OR=1.08,95%CI:1.01-1.15)were the positive factors for achieving the standard of supplementary feeding behav-ior,while the degree of depression(OR=0.95,95%CI:0.91-0.99)was the negative factor of standard supplementa-ry feeding behavior. Conclusion The current situation of supplementary feeding behavior of infant caregivers in remote rural areas of Sichuan province is not optimistic. The behavioral intention,self-efficacy and depression of caregivers will affect their feeding behavior. It is suggested to strengthen education and follow-up while paying attention to the psychological dilem-ma of caregivers in future intervention.
