Current situation of child sexual abuse prevention education and its influencing factors among primary school teachers in outside suburb district of Beijing
Objective To investigate current situation of child sexual abuse prevention education and the influen-cing factors among primary school teachers in outside suburb district of Beijing.Methods With stratified cluster sampling,a total of 452 teachers from six primary schools finished online survey in three outside suburb districts in Beijing,including Pinggu District,Huairou District and Yanqing District.One-way analysis of variance and multiple linear regression were used to explore influencing factors of child sexual abuse prevention education of teachers.Results It was returned 428 valid questionnaires(94.7%).The questions of"child sexual abuse exist around the world"and"perpetrators often repeat the offense"had the highest percentage of correct answers(88.6%).The question of"children who report sexual abuse could be believed almost all the time"had the lowest percentage of correct answers(26.4%).95.3%of teachers agreed that"child sexual abuse prevention education should be offered in primary school".91.8%of teachers agreed that"school edu-cation could be helpful to prevent child sexual abuse".46.0%of teachers conducted some forms of educational practices on child sexual abuse prevention.It was showed that teachers who had high professional ranks(B=0.484,95%CI:0.214-0.753),serving as class teacher(B=0.645,95%CI:0.256-1.034)and training experiences(B=2.114,95%CI:1.654-2.573)had high scores on education practices(P<0.05).Conclusion Primary school teachers in suburb dis-trict in Beijing had positive attitudes toward child sexual abuse prevention education,but they were lack of the knowledge and practices.It is urgent to strengthen teachers'professional training on child sexual abuse prevention education and im-prove their level of relevant knowledge and educational skills.
