Survey on training needs of health education teachers in primary and secondary schools in Guangzhou City
Objective To understand the training needs for the knowledge and skills among health education teachers in primary and secondary schools in Guangzhou City,and to provide reference for the training of health education teachers in order to improve the level of health education in primary and secondary schools in Guangzhou City.Methods A network questionnaire survey was conducted among 298 health education teachers in primary and secondary schools in Guang-zhou City,who were selected by stratified quota convenient sampling method.Results Health education teachers in prima-ry and secondary schools in Guangzhou City were mainly women,with junior and lower professional titles,undergraduate degrees and medical majors.53.02%of health education teachers carried out at least three health science publicity activities every semester in their schools,mainly focusing on common infectious diseases on campus.There was no statistically signifi-cant difference in the design of health education lectures,teaching skills,courseware and material production ability among health education teachers in different school stages(P>0.05),but there were differences in communication ability with the teaching objects(P<0.05).In the past two years,56.7%of health education teachers had attended at least two training sessions per year,and the training content were mainly about health education theory.However,it was hoped that the future training content would focus on practical skills,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).For future training needs,74.2%of them hoped that training time should be within one day,the teaching method should be theoretical knowl-edge teaching(34.6%),and the preferred training form should be online distance education(52.3%).Conclusion The training unit shall optimize the training content according to teacher demand,reasonably design the training plan,and encourage school health education teachers to actively participate in training.
