Objective To analyze the epidemic characteristics of fall injuries among residents in Suzhou City, and to provide data support and theoretical basis for further fall intervention. Methods Based on Suzhou injury monitoring sys-tem,fall injury case data of residents from 2021 to 2022 were used to analyze general situation and triple distribution. Results From 2021 to 2022,there were a total of 152 538 cases of monitored injury, including 31 953 cases of falls, which was accounted for 20.95%.The highest number of falls occurred in June, which was 3002 cases and accounted for 9.40%.The highest time period for fall in a day was between 9:30am and 10:30am,with 4340 cases accounting for 13.58%.The most common place for falls occurring was home(49.56%).The top three types injuries of falls were contu-sions/abrasions(40.93%),sprains/strains(29.07%),and fractures(25.59%).The most common site of injury was the lower limbs(36.94%),and the affected system was mostly the motor system(86.27%).The severity of injury was mostly mild(69.94%).The most common outcome of injury was hospitalization after treatment(90.97%).The falling lo-cation,activities when falling, type of fall injuries, site and affected system of injuries, severity and outcome of injuries were various among different age groups(P<0.05).Conclusion The epidemic characteristics of fall injuries among resi-dents with different age in Suzhou City are different, and prevention interventions on fall injury should be carried out for dif-ferent populations based on different characteristics.
