Study on job satisfaction and its influencing factors among health education professionals in primary health-care institutions in Guangdong Province
Objective To understand current job satisfaction and its influencing factors among health education professionals in primary healthcare institutions in Guangdong Province,and to provide theoretical basis for policy making to improve their job satisfaction.Methods A cluster sampling method was employed to conduct self-designed questionnaire survey.A multiple linear regression model was used to identify the main influencing factors associated with job satisfac-tion.Results A total of 9943 health education professionals were investigated,and the satisfaction score was(3.68±0.74)points.The results of multiple linear regression analysis revealed that the main factors associated with job satisfaction were:working experience under 5 years(B=-0.141,95%CI:-0.183--0.098),working experience for 6-years(B=-0.084,95%CI:-0.123--0.044),working experience for 11-years(B=-0.040,95%CI:-0.078--0.002),ordinary cadre position(B=-0.100,95%CI:-0.159--0.041),very low level of job achievement(B=-1.188,95%CI:-1.289--1.087),relatively low level of job achievement(B=-0.749,95%CI:-0.814--0.683),average level of job achievement(B=-0.410,95%CI:-0.470--0.350),relatively high level of job a-chievement(B=-0.229,95%CI:-0.291--0.161),relatively low workload(B=0.252,95%CI:0.188-0.317),moderate workload(B=0.203,95%CI:0.163-0.242),relatively high workload(B=0.108,95%CI:0.068-0.147),very poor colleague relationships(B=-0.543,95%CI:-0.833--0.253),relatively poor col-league relationships(B=-0.545,95%CI:-0.714--0.377),average colleague relationships(B=-0.298,95%CI:-0.335--0.261),relatively good colleague relationships(B=-0.231,95%CI:-0.266--0.197),very unfair professional title appointment(B=-0.723,95%CI:-0.829--0.618),relatively unfair professional title ap-pointment(B=-0.551,95%CI:-0.619--0.483),average professional title appointment(B=-0.354,95%CI:-0.408--0.299),relatively fair professional title appointment(B=-0.312,95%CI:-0.369--0.256),very poor salary treatment(B=-0.519,95%CI:-0.618--0.420),and relatively poor salary treatment(B=-0.344,95%CI:-0.432--0.256).Conclusion The job satisfaction of health education professionals in primary healthcare institutions in Guangdong Province is relatively high.However,it is need to improve the job satisfaction of those with lower work experience and ordinary cadre positions by a series of incentive measures in future.
