Effect of nursing intervention on patients with chronic heart failure based on information-motivation-behavior skill model
Objective To investigate the effect of nursing intervention based on Information-Motivation-Behavior(IMB)techniques model for patients with chronic heart failure(CHF)and provide reasonable countermeasures for nursing intervention in CHF.Methods A total of 220 patients with CHF admitted to our hospital from March 2021 to February 2022 were selected as study subjects using a convenient sampling method. They were randomly divided into two groups using a ran-dom number table, with 110 patients in each group. The control group received conventional nursing care, while the obser-vation group received nursing intervention based on IMB techniques model in addition to conventional care. The intervention period was 6 months. The 6-minute walk test score,self-care behavior score, and quality of life score of two groups were compared before and after the intervention by using independent-samples t-tests(paired t-tests).Results Before interven-tion,there were no statistically significant differences in scores of 6-minute walk test,self-care behavior, and quality of life between the two groups of CHF patients(P>0.05).After intervention, the scores of 6-minute walk test,self-care behav-ior,and quality of life in observation group were(364.36±28.47)m,(88.43±5.20)points,and(50.87±10.88)points,respectively,which were all significantly higher than those in the control group(298.14±62.36)m,(80.64±4.69)points,and(57.39±13.69)points,respectively.These scores were also higher than those before the intervention in observation group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Nursing intervention based on IMB techniques model could significantly improve and enhance the 6-minute walk test distance and self-care behavior of patients with CHF,and it also improves their quality of life.
