Study on screen exposure and its risk factors among children and adolescents in Zhejiang Province
Objective To investigate screen exposure status and its risk factors among children and adolescents in Zhejiang Province, and to provide scientific basis for the intervention of screen exposure in children and adolescents. Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted among 1044 students of primary, middle and high schools in Zhejiang Prov-ince.Information such as gender, grade, household registration, migration status, relationship with families, family econom-ic level, physical activities and screen exposure status were collected.ANOVA and correlation analysis were used to explore difference between groups in screen exposure.Regression analysis was used to analyze the relationship between screen exposure and risk factors. Results Among the 1044 children and adolescents, there were fifty-fifty boys and girls,549(52.6%)children and adolescents had urban household registration, and 94(9.0%)children and adolescents were left-behind.The average weekly screen exposure time of 1044 subjects was(22.3±9.2)hours,with(18.8±7.4)hours for primary school students,(19.6±7.1)hours for middle school students,and(24.6±9.7)hours for high school students,respective-ly.More physical activities(β=-0.33,P=0.008)and harmonious parent-child relationship(β=-0.32,P=0.038)were related to less screen exposure in children and adolescents.Senior grades(β=5.60,P<0.001)and left-behind chil-dren(β=2.38,P=0.012)were related to more screen exposure. Conclusion The screen exposure was related to grade, physical activity time,parent-child relationship and left-behind status.
