Analysis of smoking status and its influencing factors among vocational school students in Guangdong Province
Objective To understand the situation of tobacco use among vocational school students in Guangdong Province,and analyze the influencing factors of smoking behavior among vocational school students,and provide a basis for adolescent tobacco control strategies.Methods In March 2023,a cluster stratified random sampling method was used to select students from 3 vocational schools in Guangdong Province for a questionnaire survey.The influencing factors of smok-ing behavior among vocational school students were analyzed using a binary Logistic regression model.Results A total of 12532 valid questionnaires were obtained.The attempted smoking rate was 16.73％,and the current smoking rate was 8.13％in vocational schools in Guangdong Province.The results of multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that high age(OR=1.671,95％CI:1.030-2.710),having more disposable pocket money(OR=1.330,95％CI:1.095-1.616),classmates smoking(OR=1.441,95％CI:1.028-2.022),friends smoking(OR=4.099,95％CI:3.170-5.302),parents smoking(OR=1.800,95％CI:1.317-2.461),teachers smoking(OR=1.499,95％CI:1.249-1.799),secondhand smoking exposure among household and public place(OR=5.423,95％CI:4.519-6.507;OR=3.401,95％CI:2.826-4.094)were influencing factors of smoking behavior.Conclusion The current smoking rate among vocational school students in Guangdong Province is lower than the national level,but the situation is pessimistic.The government and relevant departments should take more targeted intervention measures.
