Objective To investigate current usage status of health science popularization short videos among resi-dents in Beijing, analyze its influence on health communication effect, and to provide theoretical support for better conduc-ting health science popularization through short video platforms. Methods From November to December 2023,residents in 17 districts of Beijing were selected by convenient sampling method to conduct a questionnaire survey.Multivariate logistic re-gression model was used to analyze main factors influencing platform disseminate effect and health-related behaviors. Results A total of 3291 residents were included.Among them,22.7%had chronic diseases, and 58.6%had used health science popularization short videos.Among the residents who had used health science popularization short videos,80.6%had plat-form disseminate effects, and 28.3%had health-related behaviors. The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the incidence of health-related behaviors in residents aged 35-49 years old was lower than that in residents aged≤34 years old, with an OR value of 0.777(95%CI:0.610-0.992).With high school and below education level as the reference, the platform disseminate effect of residents with junior college/undergraduate and master's degree and above was worse, and the OR values were 0.541(95%CI:0.380-0.770)and 0.414(95%CI:0.227-0.755),respective-ly.Compared with residents without health literacy, residents with health literacy had a higher incidence of health-related be-haviors,with an OR value of 1.263(95%CI:1.101-1.578).Conclusion The use rate of health science popularization short videos among residents in Beijing is relatively high, and the platform disseminate effect is better in terms of health com-munication effect.However,health-related behaviors are relatively low. Therefore, health popularization through short video should be demand-oriented to promote the change of residents'health-related behaviors in the future.
