Application of LEARNS nursing mode combined with short video health education in elderlypatients with type 2 diabetes
Objective To evaluate the application effect of LEARNS nursing mode combined with short video health education in elderly patientswith type 2 diabetes.Methods A total of 113 elderlypatients with type 2 diabetes admit-ted to A tertiary hospital in Anyang from March 2020 to October 2023 were randomly divided into control group(n=56)and intervention group(n=57).The control group acceptedroutine nursing care while the intervention group received LE-ARNS nursing model combined with short video health education on the basis of the control group.Blood glucose control lev-el,compliance rate of blood glucose monitoring,self-management behavior,and self-efficacy were compared between the two groups before and after intervention with t test and x2 test.Results After intervention,FBG,2h-PBG,and HbA1c in the intervention group were(5.83±1.04)mmol/L,(9.11±1.13)mmol/L,and(6.38±0.49)%,respectively,less than those in the control group(6.55±1.46)mmol/L,(10.03±1.52)mmol/L,and(7.67±0.81)%(P<0.05).The compliance rate of blood glucose monitoring in the intervention group was 92.98%,which was higher than that of 78.57%in the control group(P<0.05).After intervention,the self-management behavior scale(SDSCA)and self-ef-ficacy questionnaire scores of the intervention group were(33.76±6.52)points and(157.01±15.89)points,higher than those in control group[(29.82±5.73)points and(135.86±20.63)points,P<0.05].Conclusion The im-plementation of LEARNS nursing mode combined with short video health education for elderly patients with type 2 diabetes can improve their blood glucose level,blood glucose monitoring compliance,and self-management ability and self-efficacy.
