Gas Chromatography Fingerprint Characteristics of Volatile Halogenated Hydrocarbons in Drinking Water
The fingerprint characteristics of volatile halogenated hydrocarbons were obtained by establishing the gas chromatography(GC)fingerprint of volatile halogenated hydrocarbons in the drinking water in a city. The correlation between the changes of fingerprint characteristics in source water, finished water, pipe end water, and secondary water supply and the variation of precursor composition in source water, the purification efficiency of water treatment facilities, and the aging of transmission mains and facilities was analyzed, and the feasibility of fingerprint characteristics in the analysis of volatile halogenated hydrocarbon pollution in water and pollution prevention and control was discussed.Five types of volatile halogenated hydrocarbons or disinfection byproducts with unknown risks in the drinking water of the city were not included in the monitoring index. The changes in fingerprint characteristics of volatile halogenated hydrocarbons during water transportation could serve as an indication of the alteration in precursor composition in source water, the decline in the purification efficiency of water treatment facilities, and the aging of water transmission mains and facilities.
