Review of Mesh Simplification Technology on City Information Modelling
With the development of city information modelling,the demand for data is increasing.However,the challenges of large-scale city information modeling in terms of transmission,storage and processing have become increasingly prominent.The paper aims to provide an overview of Mesh Simplification Technology on city information modelling.The paper focused on key technologies and standard definitions related to CIM lightweighting firstly,then delved into the importance and application of Level of Development(LOD)in city information modelling;finally,specific technical approaches for CIM model lightweighting was introduced including surface simplification techniques such as QEM(Quadric Error Metrics)and Structure-Aware.The paper provided researchers and practitioners in related fields a comprehensive overview of CIM lightweighting.
