In recent years,the global plant extract industry has developed rapidly.Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)are a class of typical environmental pollutant and chemical carcinogen present in plant extract products.This paper reviews the evolution of the maximum levels(MLs)for PAHs in plant extracts in China and the EU respectively and discusses the direction of development and improvement of China's current MLs for PAHs.On this basis,it puts forward suggestions in this paper to achieve the high-quality development of China's plant extract industry,in order to provide reference for experts,scholars and industry practitioners in related fields.
