The Application of Dynamic Shear Rheometer in Performance Evaluation of Asphalt
Through the application of dynamic shear rheometer in asphalt performance evaluation, the principles and the technical parameters of three detection standards were studied. The results showed that dynamic shear rheological(DSR)test could effectively evaluate the fatigue resistance of asphalt materials, however, there were deficiencies in the evaluation of some modified asphalt materials. On this basis, the multiple stress creep recovery(MSCR)test could effectively evaluate the permanent deformation capacity and stress dependence of modified asphalt products, because it could simulate the performance of asphalt pavements under influences of repeated vehicle loads and unloads. The linear amplitude sweep(LAS)test was to calculate the fatigue cycles by performing frequency sweep and then strain sweep, and evaluate the fatigue damage resistance of asphalt under medium temperature conditions. However, the validity of this method needs to be further studied and confirmed due to the lack of research.
