Identification of Parasitic Wasp Cephalonomia gallicola Parasitizing Lasioderma serricorne and Its Intragenus Species
Lasioderma serricorne(Fabricius)(Coleoptera:Anobiidae)is a worldwide stored-grain pest and also one of the pests frequently captured at ports.Under natural condition,an ectoparasitoid natural enemy,Cephalonomia gallicola(Ashmead,1887)(Hymenoptera:Bethylidae)was found in Lasioderma serricorne.Cephalonomia gallicola belongs to Cephalonomia Westwood,1833,and parasitizes storage beetles such as Lasioderma serricorne(Fabricius). However, there are few researches on it in China. In this paper, the morphological characteristics of the adult Cephalonomia gallicola are described, and six species of Ceratophora which have already been described in China so far are distinguished from each other in terms of morphology, host and distribution.Further we provide a key to Cephalonomia and a description of its parasitic behaviours,in order to provide the basis for the classification and identification of Cephalonomia gallicolas and the reference for the biological control of Lasioderma serricornes.
