Discrimination of Pterocarpus Erinaceus and Its Three Easily Mixed Wood Species
The article explores the trade names and aliases,trees and their distribution,macrostructure,microscopic features,and wood properties and utilization of four species of Pterocarpus spp.,namely Pterocarpus erinaceus,Pterocarpus macrocarpus,Pterocarpus soyauxii,and Pterocarpus angolensis.By analyzing these characteristics,this study provides a reference basis for accurately distinguishing Pterocarpus erinaceus from similar woods.It not only helps to improve the inspection and supervision ability of the customs and other law enforcement departments,but also protects the global timber resources and promote the healthy development of China's timber import and export trade.
