The Influence of Metal Ions on Synchronous Electrodeposition of 232Th,237Np and 239Pu in Aqueous Solutions
In this study, under optimized electrodeposition conditions, the influence of K+、Na+,Ca2+,Mg2+,Fe2+,Zn2+and other common metal ions on electrodeposition efficiency of 232Th,237Np and 239Pu has been systematically investigated. The results show that the presence of interfering ions leads to a reduction in the electrodeposition efficiency to varying degrees.Whether in the case of a single nuclide or coexistence of multiple nuclides, the interference of metal ions has the greatest effect on the electrodeposition efficiency of 232Th,followed by 237Np,with the least impact on 239Pu.The more active the metal ions, the less influence they have on the electrodeposition efficiency of the three nuclides.Conversely, the less active the metal ions, the stronger their electron-accepting ability, and some may preferentially deposit onto the stainless steel substrate ahead of the target nuclides, thereby preventing the deposition of the target nuclides or affecting the stability of the target nuclides on the stainless steel substrate, resulting in low electrodeposition efficiency. The findings of this study provide a reference for expanding the application range of the electrodeposition method for the determination of actinide nuclides.
