Analysis of the Epidemiological Characteristics of Malaria in Pukou District of Nanjing City from 2006 to 2023
This study analyzes the epidemiological characteristics of malaria and the trend of malaria vectors in Pukou District,Nanjing City,Jiangsu Province from 2006 to 2023,so as to provide a basis for further scientific formulation of malaria prevention and control strategies. The data for this study were sourced from the National Notifiable Infectious Diseases Reporting Information Management System from 2006 to 2023,the epidemiological case survey of malaria cases in Pukou District, and the mosquito vector survey in Pukou District. The results showed that a total of 42 malaria cases were reported in Pukou District from 2006 to 2023,mainly imported vivax malaria, with an average annual incidence rate of 0.40/100,000,and the time from the onset of malaria to medical in-stitutions was 1-23 days, and the median was the 4th day after the onset of malaria. In terms of mosquito vector survey,a total of 1092 Anopheles sinensis were captured in Pukou District from 2006 to 2023,and the highest density index of Anopheles sinensis was 0.42(mosquitoes/trap/hour).The results showed that imported cases occurred from time to time in Pukou District, and it was necessary to strengthen the training of clinicians and microscopists, promote the use of malaria rapid diagnostic test strips(RDT),and strengthen the joint prevention and control of malaria,so as to deal with imported malaria epidemics in a timely and effective manner to prevent local transmission.
